How Sirius PV is using AI to revolutionize its solar module plant operations
A Turkish company called Elin Energy runs a solar panel factory in Brookshire, Texas, just outside Houston, where it makes Sirius PV brand solar modules for the U.S. market. The plant, running since late 2024 with about 300 workers, is built around heavy automation and a custom-built software system that tracks every machine and every panel down to the millisecond, recording details like soldering temperatures and laminator pressure. The company backs its panels with a 25-year product guarantee and 30-year warranty on power output.
The tracking system recently proved its worth when a customer spotted a mislabeled panel. Engineers traced the problem to a rare software glitch and, using their AI tools, found 59 panels affected by the same error within minutes. The company identified exactly where each one had shipped and contacted all the affected buyers within 24 hours to arrange replacements, even reaching buyers who hadn't noticed anything wrong.
For homeowners, this kind of factory-level tracking matters because it means a manufacturer can catch and fix a defect in a specific batch of panels rather than leaving buyers to discover problems on their own roof years later. The same tracking system also helps verify how much of a panel's material content is domestic, which matters for buyers claiming tax credits that require a certain percentage of U.S.-made or non-restricted content. If you're weighing solar panel brands, warranty length and a manufacturer's ability to trace and fix production problems are worth factoring in alongside price and efficiency ratings.
