XPENG MONA L03 Seen Testing VLA 2.0 In Munich. What Do You Want To See?

July 13, 2026 · CleanTechnica · Score: 0

This is a car story, not a home energy upgrade story, so it doesn't affect your house or any rebate plans. But here's what's happening: the Chinese automaker XPENG has been testing a new electric car, the MONA L03, on the streets of Munich, Germany, ahead of a European launch. The car uses a driver-assist system called VLA 2.0, which XPENG has said it will roll out once new European Union rules for this kind of technology take effect later this year.

The MONA L03 already went on sale in China, where early reviews have been positive, especially among younger drivers. XPENG is bringing its most advanced version of the car and its driving-assist software to Europe right away, rather than holding back older technology, which is what some other Chinese automakers have done when entering markets outside China. That approach could make the car a stronger competitor against established EV brands.

For homeowners, this is simply automotive industry news about a new EV model and its self-driving features being tested abroad. It has no connection to home energy upgrades, heating and cooling equipment, or rebate programs. If you're weighing an EV purchase alongside a home charging setup, it's worth noting that this car has not yet launched in Europe or any other market outside China, so pricing, availability, and any charging specifications for markets beyond China are not yet known.
