Want to earn your LEED Green Associate? Start with USGBC’s exam prep bootcamp
This news is about a professional training program, not a home upgrade. The U.S. Green Building Council is running a bootcamp to help people prepare for the LEED Green Associate exam, a credential that shows someone understands the basics of green building and the LEED certification system (LEED is a widely used rating system for environmentally friendly construction). The credential is aimed at people working in or entering the building and sustainability industry, not at homeowners doing their own upgrades.
The bootcamp runs as five live online sessions on Tuesdays and Thursdays, November 3 through 12, from 6 to 7:30 p.m. Eastern, taught by Daniel Overbey, an architect and sustainability professional. It includes recorded sessions, reading materials, and a discount on two study guides, and prepares participants for an updated version of the exam.
For a homeowner, this isn't something that changes rebates, costs, or technology choices for your own house. It's useful mainly if you work in construction, architecture, or sustainability consulting and want a recognized credential, or if you're curious about who holds LEED qualifications when hiring help for a green building project. If you're simply looking into home energy upgrades, this particular news doesn't affect your plans.
