Volvo delivers first EX60 EVs, a ‘game changer’ with 500+ miles range and fast charging

July 16, 2026 · Electrek · Score: 24

Volvo has begun delivering its new EX60 electric SUV, starting with customers in Sweden. This is the automaker's first vehicle built on a new platform (called SPA3) that allows for longer range and faster charging than any previous all-electric Volvo.

For US buyers, the 2027 EX60 comes in three versions. The base P6 model has an 83 kWh battery and up to 307 miles of range, starting around $58,400 before a $1,395 destination fee. A mid-tier P10 all-wheel-drive version offers 322 miles of range starting around $60,750. The top P12 all-wheel-drive version has a 117 kWh battery and up to 400 miles of range. All versions can charge from 10% to 80% in 16 to 19 minutes on a fast charger, and the EX60 is Volvo's first EV built with Tesla's charging plug (NACS) already built in, so it can use Tesla Superchargers without an adapter.

Higher-priced "Ultra" trims add upgraded interior features like Nappa leather seating and a premium sound system, while the base "Plus" trim still includes a large touchscreen with Google features and Volvo's standard safety systems.

For a homeowner thinking about home charging, the EX60's fast-charging speeds mean it draws a lot of power in a short time on public fast chargers, but for everyday charging at home, the battery sizes are similar to other electric SUVs on the market. If you're considering an EV like this alongside home upgrades, it's worth checking whether your electrical panel and charging setup can support it.
