Volkswagen launches the ID.3 Neo in the UK with up to 390 miles of range

August 12, 2026 · Electrek · Score: 0

This news is about a car launch in the UK, not a home energy upgrade, so it doesn't have a direct connection to your house. But here's what happened, in brief: Volkswagen has launched the new ID.3 Neo electric hatchback in the UK, with prices starting at £33,080 (about $45,000) for the base Life trim. Style and limited Style Launch Edition versions cost more, up to £39,750 ($54,000).

The car comes with three battery options — 50 kWh, 58 kWh, and 79 kWh — giving driving ranges of up to 258, 306, and 390 miles respectively. Fast charging from 10% to 80% takes between 24 and 29 minutes depending on battery size. All versions qualify for the UK government's £1,500 (about $2,000) Electric Car Grant, which lowers the effective price.

The redesigned model also brings a new look inside and out, including physical buttons back on the dashboard and steering wheel, larger screens, and a retro display mode. It goes on sale in the UK on August 13. This is a UK vehicle launch with a government purchase grant tied to it, not a home energy efficiency program, so it doesn't affect rebates or upgrades for your house.
