VMAX launches new full-suspension VX2 Lite e-scooter for a mere $799
This one isn't about home energy upgrades, but here's the news in brief: Swiss brand VMAX has released a new electric scooter, the VX2 Lite, aimed at commuters who want a comfortable ride without paying for a bulky high-performance model. It has a rear motor that puts out 500 watts continuously (up to 1,400 watts at peak), a top speed of 25 mph, and enough power to climb grades up to 28 percent.
Buyers choose between two batteries: a smaller one rated for 31 miles of range and a larger one rated for 56 miles. For comfort, the scooter has front hydraulic suspension plus rear elastomer suspension, along with 10-inch tubeless tires, meant to smooth out cracks and potholes. Braking uses a front drum brake, which holds up well in wet weather and needs less upkeep than disc brakes, paired with electronic regenerative braking on the rear.
The scooter is water-resistant and weighs about 48 pounds with the smaller battery or 52 pounds with the larger one, light enough to carry up stairs or onto a bus or train. It comes with a headlight, brake light, and a 24-month warranty. Pricing starts at $799 for the 31-mile version, with the 56-mile version at $1,099. This is a consumer transportation product, not a home energy system, so it has no connection to weatherization work, rebates, or heating and cooling upgrades for your house.
