Urban Arrow enters the longtail cargo e-bike market in US with its new Breeze

August 13, 2026 · Electrek · Score: 0

This is a product story about electric cargo bikes, not a home energy upgrade, but it may interest homeowners looking to cut car trips. Urban Arrow, known for front-loading cargo bikes, has launched its first "longtail" model for the US and Canada, called the Breeze. A longtail is a cargo e-bike with an extended rear rack instead of a front box, designed to handle more like a regular bicycle while still hauling kids or groceries.

The Breeze uses 24-inch wheels for more stable handling, a Bosch Cargo Line motor, an Enviolo automatic-style hub transmission, and a Gates belt drive instead of a chain. The rear rack can carry up to 176 pounds, enough for two children or a mix of passengers and cargo, and the bike's total capacity is 440 pounds. It has a low step-through frame for easier loading, guards to protect against the belt and spokes, a dual-leg kickstand, and a display and security features from Bosch. It also has mounting points on the front and rear racks for swapping between seats and cargo boxes.

The Breeze is available now through dealers in the US and Canada in one green color. It starts at $6,999, which includes more than $700 worth of accessories like a passenger bar, footrests, and seat cushions that many competitors sell separately. For households considering a cargo bike as a car replacement for school runs or errands, that price puts it in the premium tier of the market.
