Toyota's electric SUV, the bZ, will get a 2027 update arriving at dealerships in September, with prices staying about the same as before. The base XLE FWD model starts at $34,980 (before a $1,595 delivery fee) and offers up to 236 miles of range. Stepping up to the FWD Plus trim brings range to 314 miles for $37,980. Other trims include XLE AWD, Limited FWD, and Limited AWD, with prices climbing toward $45,380 for the top AWD Limited version and range varying by trim.
For homeowners weighing an EV alongside home charging plans, a few details matter. The bZ now has a built-in NACS port, the same plug Tesla uses, so it can charge at Tesla Superchargers without an adapter. Fast charging from 10% to 80% takes about 30 minutes, and the car adds battery preconditioning, which warms or cools the battery before charging to improve performance in cold weather. It also supports Plug & Charge, letting the car handle payment automatically at compatible chargers.
Inside, the update brings a larger 14-inch touchscreen with wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, a wireless phone charger, and a digital key feature that lets you unlock and start the car with your phone instead of a physical key. None of this changes home electricity needs directly, but if you're considering a home charger installation, the bZ's NACS port and fast-charging speed are useful details for planning what equipment fits your driveway setup.
