Tough times for Audi, VW, and Porsche could make October a great time to buy
Volkswagen Group is dealing with labor disputes and slow EV sales, and that's pushing Audi, Porsche, and VW to offer heavy discounts and rebates on electric vehicles through November 3. These aren't home energy upgrades, but if you're thinking about going electric for your next car alongside other efficiency improvements, the savings are worth knowing about.
Audi is knocking $20,000 off its 2026 RS e-tron GT plus a $1,100 charging rebate, while its other e-tron models get the charging rebate on their own. Porsche, which almost never discounts, is seeing Macan Electric buyers pay about $3,600 below sticker price, and a "Welcome to Porsche" offer will cover your first three monthly payments, worth up to $4,500. Volkswagen has the biggest deals: $12,500 off leftover 2025 ID.4 models plus the $1,100 charging rebate, and $10,000 off 2026 ID.4s. In states with their own EV incentives, like Illinois, buyers could stack on another $2,000 to $4,000, plus $500 more for military members and first responders, pushing total savings on an ID.4 past $18,000.
If you're weighing an EV purchase alongside things like a heat pump or home charger, these discounts could change your math this month. Rebate amounts vary by state and dealer, so it's worth checking what's available where you live before deciding whether this is the right window to buy.
