This $1,800 electric motorcycle hits 70 MPH and could change the game

August 12, 2026 · Electrek · Score: 2

A new electric motorcycle from Indian startup Avore is drawing attention for its low price and strong numbers, though it has no direct bearing on home energy upgrades. The EX2S is priced at about $1,800 and comes with a 5 kWh battery, a 10.5 kW motor, and a claimed top speed of 70 mph. Avore says the bike can go from 0-25 mph in 2.8 seconds and has a claimed range of 161 miles, though real-world range is likely closer to half that.

The bike charges from a standard household outlet using an onboard 1.5 kW charger, going from 20% to 80% in about two hours or fully charging in around four hours. It also includes a 7-inch display, smartphone connectivity for navigation and security alerts, multiple ride modes, and a simulated four-speed mode meant to mimic a traditional motorcycle's gear shifts.

For now, the EX2S is only available in India, with no word on whether Avore plans to sell it elsewhere. This is a product story about the electric vehicle market abroad rather than anything tied to home energy efficiency, rebates, or upgrades, so it does not affect decisions homeowners might be weighing about their own houses.
