The story of SONDORS’ new mystery e-bike just got even weirder with just two words

September 6, 2026 · Electrek · Score: 0

This isn't a home energy story, but a quick note on why it's not relevant to your house: it's about e-bikes, not home upgrades or rebates.

The e-bike company SONDORS, founded by Storm Sondors, recently resurfaced after years of trouble. In 2023 the company went into receivership, leaving customers with unfulfilled orders, most notably for its $5,000 electric motorcycle that faced repeated delays before the company's finances collapsed. Then a teaser appeared on the SONDORS website for a new product called "001," showing a dark image of what looks like a moped-style e-bike or light motorcycle, along with a date: September 3.

That date has now passed, and instead of revealing the product, the website changed its message to "THE LIST IS CLOSED." A support tab on the site now shows contact information followed by the phrase "No promises," which, given the company's history of delays and unfulfilled orders, is not exactly reassuring language from a brand trying to relaunch.

No price, release date, or details about what the 001 actually is have been shared. For homeowners, this has no bearing on energy upgrades or rebates — it's simply an update on a consumer product company's confusing relaunch.
