The Genesis GV90 transforms into a private luxury theater with a pop-up 24.6″ display

September 9, 2026 · Electrek · Score: 0

This one is outside the home energy upgrade world, but here's what it's about: Genesis unveiled its new flagship electric SUV, the GV90, and its standout feature is a pop-up display screen. While driving, the infotainment screen measures 23.6 inches. Once parked, it extends to 24.6 inches and switches into a "Media Home" mode for streaming Netflix, live TV, and music, backed by a 25-speaker Bang & Olufsen sound system with Dolby Atmos.

The GV90 also comes with a 25-inch head-up display that projects speed and turn-by-turn directions onto the windshield, an AI assistant called Gleo that can answer questions or search the web, and a choice of two body styles: one with pillarless "coach doors" and one with traditional swing doors. It runs on a 123.5 kWh battery, the largest in Hyundai Motor Group's lineup, with an expected range of about 310 miles for the seven-seat version.

For homeowners thinking about electric vehicles, the main relevance here is charging: a battery this size means longer charging sessions, so anyone planning to buy a large luxury EV like this may want to think ahead about home charging setup and how it fits with whatever electrical capacity and rebates are available in their state. Beyond that, this is really a story about in-car entertainment and design, not a home energy upgrade.
