The 2027 Audi Q6 e-tron delivers more driving range than expected
This story is about a new electric vehicle, not a home energy upgrade, but it may interest anyone weighing an EV alongside home charging plans. The 2027 Audi Q6 e-tron carries an EPA-estimated range of up to 301 miles. In independent real-world testing by Edmunds, it actually went 337 miles on a single charge, about 12% further than its official rating, and used less energy than expected too.
For comparison, two rivals still beat it in that same real-world test: the 2026 BMW iX xDrive went 338 miles and the Cadillac Optiq went 339 miles. But the Q6 e-tron outperformed the 2025 Porsche Macan 4S (323 miles) and Macan Turbo (301 miles). The Audi also costs less, starting at $64,500, compared with $89,900 for the Macan 4S and $84,600 for the Macan Turbo.
If you're thinking about pairing a new EV with home charging, the extra real-world range means fewer charging stops and more flexibility for daily driving between charges. The Q6 e-tron also got some updates for 2027, including a new infotainment system, the return of physical buttons, and improved regenerative braking, which likely helped its efficiency. It's roughly the same size as the BMW iX3 and Porsche Macan EV, so it fits into the same midsize luxury SUV category if you're cross-shopping electric options for your household.
