Tesla in-cabin camera fails to prevent 60 mph naps as Wisk Aero faces lawsuit

July 7, 2026 · Electrek · Score: 0

This isn't really home energy news, so there's not much here for planning upgrades or rebates. It's a roundup of car and aviation stories: a Tesla driver was caught asleep at highway speed despite the car's in-cabin camera, which is meant to watch for driver attention. Separately, code found in the Tesla app suggests that camera may soon be used to verify who's driving before allowing the FSD (Full Self-Driving) system to operate, rather than purely for safety monitoring. There's also a story questioning why Tesla is ramping up production of its Cybercab before the self-driving technology it depends on is actually ready.

The other item involves Wisk Aero, the Boeing-backed company building autonomous air taxis (eVTOL, short for electric vertical takeoff and landing aircraft). A former employee has filed a lawsuit claiming they were fired for raising concerns about rushed software testing, concerns that reportedly could have delayed the first flight of the company's newest aircraft.

None of this touches home heating, insulation, electrical panels, or rebate programs, so there is nothing here that affects decisions about upgrading your house.
