Range Rover Sport EV orders open at nearly $150,000 with up to 378 miles of range
Land Rover has opened orders for the Range Rover Sport Electric, its second all-electric SUV, in the UK, priced from about £110,000 (roughly $146,000). That's about $58,000 less than the flagship Range Rover Electric, which starts near $200,000 in the UK. The Sport EV isn't a home energy story, but it's worth knowing about if you're weighing an electric vehicle alongside other household upgrades like solar or a heat pump, since EV charging habits can factor into home electrical planning.
The SUV uses a 118.5 kWh battery and offers up to 378 miles of range under the WLTP test standard, with real-world range closer to 333 miles. It can charge on 800-volt fast chargers at up to 350 kW, adding around 136 miles in about 22 minutes, or going from 10% to 80% charge in roughly the same time. That kind of fast charging generally requires public high-power stations rather than a typical home charger, though most owners would still do routine charging at home overnight.
The dual-motor setup produces up to 542 horsepower and can hit 60 mph in as little as 4.3 seconds, with off-road features like deep water wading and steep-slope climbing. Deliveries begin next year in the UK. A US launch is expected sometime in 2027 as a 2028 model, with no confirmed date yet, and pricing likely to land somewhere between $120,000 and $130,000 based on comparisons to the flagship model's US price.
