New Vertical Stack Fan Coils for Hospitality and High Rises

July 16, 2026 · ACHR News · Score: 28

Systemair USA has introduced a new line of vertical stack fan coils called the VStak Series, aimed at hotels and high-rise apartment or condo buildings rather than single-family homes. These units heat and cool individual rooms while connecting to a building's central system, and they come in exposed or concealed versions that can be built into a wall or closet for a cleaner look.

For most homeowners, this equipment does not apply directly. It is sized and designed for large multi-unit buildings, with units standing about 86 inches tall and offered in three airflow capacities to match different room sizes. If you live in a condo or apartment building, though, this is the type of equipment your building's HVAC system might eventually use, since the units are built for consistent performance across many units on repeated floor plans, faster installation, and easier long-term maintenance.

The features Systemair highlights, quieter fan operation, electronically commutated motors (a more efficient motor type), hydronic (water-based) heating and cooling with an optional electric heat add-on, and easier service access, are meant to cut down on maintenance calls and complaints in buildings with many units. None of this involves rebates, incentives, or upgrades a homeowner would arrange for their own house. It is mainly relevant background if you own or manage a multifamily property, or if you are simply curious about the equipment that might be humming behind the wall of your building's mechanical closet.
