Kia’s larger electric van caught with less camo ahead of its ‘big’ debut [Images]

August 7, 2026 · Electrek · Score: 12

This is car news, not a home energy story, but here's the gist. Kia is preparing a bigger electric van, the PV7, for launch in 2027. Spy photos and video show a test version driving on public roads with less camouflage than earlier sightings, giving a clearer look at its size ahead of the official reveal.

The PV7 will sit above Kia's current electric van, the PV5, which has sold well in Europe and the UK since launching last year. A concept version of the PV7 shown in 2024 measured about 5.27 meters long and 2.12 meters tall, noticeably larger than the PV5. Kia is expected to add the same infotainment and fleet software used in the PV5. After the PV7, Kia plans a third, even larger van, the PV9, in 2029, rounding out a lineup aimed at commercial and fleet buyers.

None of this involves home energy equipment, rebates, or efficiency programs. It is about Kia's plans for electric delivery and passenger vans, which are mainly relevant to businesses and fleets rather than homeowners weighing upgrades like heat pumps or insulation. If you're tracking electric vehicles generally, it's a sign of Kia expanding its EV van lineup, but it does not affect any home energy incentives or projects.
