Kia EV3 prices and range revealed, starting at $30,000
Kia's compact electric SUV, the EV3, is now on sale in the US, starting at $29,890 for the base Light trim. That price gets you a 58.3 kWh battery pack with an EPA-estimated range of 221 miles. A longer-range version with an 81.4 kWh battery reaches up to 321 miles. Four other trims are available: Wind ($34,990), Land ($38,490), GT-Line ($43,490), and GT ($45,890), with all-wheel drive adding $3,200 on trims where it's optional.
For home charging, the EV3 can go from 10% to 80% in 29 minutes using DC fast charging (a public charger, not a home outlet). All US models come with a built-in NACS port, the same plug type Tesla uses, so owners can charge at Tesla Superchargers without needing an adapter. Inside, the SUV has a large combined display setup, wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, and features like one-pedal driving and vehicle-to-load, which lets the car's battery power outside devices or equipment.
For a homeowner weighing an EV purchase, the practical points are the price, the range options, and the charging setup. If you're considering a home charger install to go with a new EV, the EV3's standard NACS port and fast-charging speed are relevant details, though actual home charging speed depends on the charger you install and your electrical setup, which this news doesn't address.
