Kia announces EV3 prices for the US and Canada as its most affordable EV
Kia's 2027 EV3, a compact electric SUV, has arrived in the US and Canada with pricing set. In the US, it starts at $29,890 plus a $1,495 delivery fee, putting it among the cheapest EVs on the market. The base Light trim uses a 58.3 kWh battery for up to 221 miles of range, while the Wind, Land, GT-Line, and GT trims get a bigger 81.4 kWh battery good for up to 321 miles. Front-wheel-drive versions have a single motor with 201 horsepower; adding all-wheel drive costs $3,200 more and boosts output to 261 horsepower (up to 288 in the GT). Prices run up to $45,890 for the top GT AWD trim, before delivery fees.
In Canada, the EV3 starts at CA$36,995 (about CA$39,744 with freight and fees), which Kia says makes it the lowest-priced EV sold there. Canadian buyers get more trim choices, including GT-Line Limited versions, with prices topping out near CA$58,746 for the fully loaded GT AWD.
Every EV3 comes with a NACS charging port, the same plug Tesla uses, so no adapter is needed at Tesla Superchargers. Fast charging from 10 to 80 percent takes about 29 to 31 minutes, depending on battery size. Standard features include one-pedal driving, the ability to power outside devices from the car's battery, and adaptive cruise control. The EV3 is on sale now, with vehicles expected at dealerships later this month. It lands in the same price range as the Chevy Bolt EV and Nissan Leaf, but offers longer range and the only all-wheel-drive option among the three.
