Jackery & Pebble Partner On Self-Powered RVs

October 7, 2026 · CleanTechnica · Score: 9

Jackery and Pebble, the California-based maker of electric camper trailers, are teaming up to make the Pebble Flow more self-sufficient off the grid. The 2027 Pebble Flow already runs on a 45 kWh battery with up to 1.1 kW of roof solar. The new Self-Powered Package adds four 500-watt Jackery solar panels, for 2 kW more capacity, with cables and a connection kit built to work directly with the trailer's existing power system. The companies say that with the panels out, the trailer can generate more power than it uses on a typical day, even with the air conditioning running.

The appeal is avoiding noisy generators, propane, and crowded campground hookups. The Pebble Flow is also built like an electric vehicle, with motors in its wheels that help tow it, regenerative braking, and the ability to charge like an EV. It can even inch itself into a tight parking spot using cameras and onboard computing. The battery system can also put out up to 12 kW of power, enough to run a home or charge an EV, which could be useful since many RVs sit parked in driveways most of the year.

The Self-Powered Package costs $4,000 added to the $189,000 Pebble Flow Founder's Edition, or it can be added to the $159,000 Magic Pack model, which first requires a separate $5,000 solar upgrade. Orders opened this week, with the solar hardware expected to ship in December. This is a high-end luxury trailer, not a typical home energy product, but it points to where battery and solar technology is heading for off-grid living.
