Hyundai’s IONIQ 6 N looks ready for its US launch with a fresh new attitude [Image]
This news is about a car, not a home energy upgrade, so it doesn't really affect plans for your house. Still, here's what's happening: Hyundai is preparing to launch the IONIQ 6 N, an electric performance sports car, in the US by the end of 2026. It's the second high-performance electric vehicle in Hyundai's "N" lineup, following the IONIQ 5 N. A prototype was recently spotted testing on public roads without camouflage, showing a lower, wider stance, a large rear wing, modified bumpers, and N badging.
Under the skin, the IONIQ 6 N shares its underlying electric platform with other Hyundai EVs and uses a dual-motor all-wheel-drive setup producing a combined 641 horsepower, with a 0-60 mph time of about 3.2 seconds. It also includes features that mimic the feel of a gas-powered car, like simulated gear shifts and engine sounds, along with performance-oriented brakes, suspension, and seating.
Hyundai has not announced an official price, but based on recent pricing for the related IONIQ 5, the IONIQ 6 N is expected to start somewhere between $65,000 and $70,000 when it arrives as a 2027 model. None of this involves rebates, home charging incentives, or energy-efficiency programs, so there is nothing here that changes what a homeowner would do about their own house or utility costs.
