Huawei-backed AITO sets Europe launch for fall 2027 with 4 luxury SUVs
This is car news, not a home energy story, so there is not much here that affects your house directly. The short version: AITO, a Chinese luxury SUV brand built by Seres with backing from Huawei, says it will start selling cars in Europe in fall 2027. The brand showed four SUV models at the Paris Motor Show, all offered in China as either fully electric or "range-extended" versions, which use a small gas engine as a generator to charge the battery. The flagship model is a large three-row SUV sized like a BMW X7 or Mercedes GLS.
There is no word yet on prices, which European countries will get the cars first, or who will sell and service them. AITO still needs European safety and vehicle certification, which it says it is pursuing. The company has also quietly downplayed Huawei's role in its branding for Europe, likely because some governments there have restricted Huawei technology.
None of this changes anything for homeowners right now. If you are thinking ahead to charging a large electric SUV like this one at home eventually, the general point still holds: home solar remains one of the cheaper ways to offset the cost of charging a big battery, especially as electricity rates continue to rise. But as for AITO itself, it is a brand to watch for later, not something that affects any decision you need to make today.
