Here’s our first look at the Range Rover GT in real life [Video]
This one is a car story, not a home energy story, but here's what's happening. Range Rover is building a new model called the GT, a low-slung, sporty version that looks different from its boxier SUVs. A prototype was just spotted testing at Germany's Nürburgring race track, giving the first real-world look at the car, still wrapped in camouflage.
The GT will be electric first, with a hybrid version added later. Range Rover expects a battery around 100 kWh, which could give it close to 500 miles of range on Europe's testing standard. For comparison, the brand's other electric SUV coming out first uses a 118 kWh battery for an EPA-estimated 373 miles. In the US, the electric GT is expected to start around $90,000 with at least 300 miles of range on the EPA test, which tends to run lower than the European figures. Production is planned to start in the first half of 2027 in the UK.
None of this connects to home energy upgrades or rebates. It is simply news about a new luxury electric vehicle coming from Range Rover, aimed at drivers cross-shopping high-end electric SUVs rather than anyone planning improvements to their house.
