Gazelle just made its premium electric bikes a lot more affordable
Dutch e-bike maker Gazelle has introduced three new electric bikes that bring its premium Ultimate line down to a more accessible price. The Ultimate T10, Ultimate C5, and Ultimate C380 start at $3,499, with the C5 at $3,999 and the C380 at $4,499. All three are "Class 1" bikes, meaning the motor only assists while you pedal and cuts off at 20 mph, with no throttle — a simpler, more traditional riding style than faster commuter models.
These bikes share the same frame design as Gazelle's pricier Class 3 models, including an upright riding position, wider tires, a suspension fork, and a suspension seatpost for comfort. They use Bosch's electric drive system and a 540Wh battery (with options to upgrade to a larger battery or add a range-extending pack). Features like automatic brake lights and a phone-mounting system carry over as well. The step up to the C5 and C380 brings nicer drivetrains — a belt drive paired with either an internal gear hub or a stepless automatic transmission — that typically mean less maintenance than a standard bike chain and gears.
For homeowners considering an e-bike as a way to cut car trips or driving costs, these models land at the higher end of the price range but come from an established brand with a wide dealer network, rather than a budget import. They're available now at Gazelle dealers in the US and Canada.
