Enphase debuts smart thermostat displaying home solar production
Enphase Energy is releasing a new smart thermostat called IQ Air that does more than control temperature. It also shows solar production, battery performance, and how much power your home is using, right on the wall display. The thermostat coordinates heating and cooling with your solar and battery system, adjusting based on how much power you're producing, your battery's charge level, time-of-use electricity rates (pricing that changes depending on when you use power), weather forecasts, and grid events tied to virtual power plant programs (setups where home batteries or devices help support the electric grid).
IQ Air works with 24-volt HVAC systems and supports homes with multiple heating and cooling zones, each with its own temperature control. Enphase says it can be installed without a professional, with the company's app guiding setup step by step. For homes already using Enphase equipment or planning a solar installation, this thermostat could serve as an early piece of the system, installed even before solar panels go up.
The thermostat is available for pre-order now through Enphase and its distribution partners, with shipping expected to start in August 2026. If your home already has, or is considering, an Enphase solar and battery setup, this is a new option for keeping an eye on your system's performance and possibly getting more efficient use out of your heating and cooling. No pricing was announced.
