EcoFlow launches 5 kWh to 30 kWh residential storage systems
EcoFlow has launched a new line of home battery systems, called the Titan series, aimed at lowering the cost of home energy storage. There are three models: the Titan 5000 Classic, the Titan 5000, and the Titan 5000 Plus, ranging from 5 kWh up to 30 kWh of storage. EcoFlow says the sizing is based on data from 100,000 households showing most homes rarely need high power output, so the Titan line is built around more typical, lower demand use.
The top model, the Titan 5000 Plus, can supply 7.2 kW of power (rising to 10 kW when paired with solar), enough, EcoFlow says, to run a central air conditioner along with a fridge, TV and lights at the same time. It also accepts up to 8 kW of solar input. The standard Titan 5000 offers similar output but less solar input, while the cheaper Classic model has lower power and solar capacity. The systems use lithium iron phosphate (LFP) batteries, a common, durable, and fire-safe battery chemistry, and pair with a new "Smart Home Panel 10," which can manage up to 10 household circuits and automatically switch to battery power in a fraction of a second during an outage.
On cost, EcoFlow estimates installation labor around $1,200 and about two hours of on-site work, with its install service beginning after permits are approved. Pricing is being given in ranges for now: the Classic around $2,000 alone or $5,000 installed, and the 5000 or 5000 Plus around $3,000 alone or $7,000 installed. The systems become available October 13, with full pricing details expected November 3.
