E-quipment highlight: EGO POWER+ Leaf Vacuum and Mulcher

EGO Power+ has released a new battery-powered leaf tool that combines a blower, vacuum, and mulcher in one device, the LV5005 with a 500 CFM blower. It's arriving in time for fall 2026 cleanup. The company says it puts out 210 mph of blowing force and can mulch leaves down at a 16:1 ratio, meaning 16 bags of leaves can be compressed into one. That could matter if your town or neighborhood charges by the bag for yard waste pickup, since some places charge as much as $7 per bag.

The tool runs on EGO's 56V ARC Lithium battery, the same one used across the brand's other outdoor power tools and even in some John Deere electric riding mowers, so if you already own EGO equipment you may be able to share batteries. On the low setting, it offers up to 90 minutes of runtime, which the company estimates could cover about a quarter acre depending on how much blowing versus vacuuming you do. Switching between blower and vacuum mode doesn't require tools.

The LV5005 is sold either on its own or as a kit with a 6.0Ah battery and charger, along with a vacuum tube, leaf bag, blower tube, nozzle, and shoulder strap. It's rated IPX5 for weather resistance and comes with a 5-year tool warranty and 3-year battery warranty. For homeowners weighing a switch away from gas-powered yard equipment, it's one more battery tool option built around a shared platform.
