Current classics: Bisimoto’s 600 hp electric Rolls-Royce SilvEV Ghost

August 15, 2026 · Electrek · Score: 0

This story is about a car, not a home upgrade, but it's worth a quick note if you follow electric vehicle news. Builder Bisi Ezerioha of Bisimoto has converted a 1974 Rolls-Royce Silver Shadow into an electric restomod called the SilvEV Ghost. It swaps the original engine for a custom 600 horsepower, 400-volt liquid-cooled electric motor, paired with a 70 kWh lithium-ion battery pack (from LG Chem) that charges through a CCS connector, the same type used by many public EV chargers.

The car recently reappeared, freshly detailed, at the Exotics on Broadway show and is set to appear again August 29, 2026, at the Toyo Tires Shutterspace event in Irvine, California. It rides on an air suspension with forged wheels and gets a redone leather and Alcantara interior with a custom wood steering wheel and digital EV gauges.

There's nothing here that affects your home energy plans or rebates. It's simply a one-off showcase build, the kind of project that demonstrates how far electric drivetrain technology has come, even for something as unlikely as a decades-old luxury sedan. If you're curious about the broader shift toward electrification, it's a reminder that batteries and electric motors are showing up in surprising places, but this particular build has no bearing on home heating, weatherization, or rebate programs.
