Canadian Solar unveils new EP Cube systems featuring higher power, scalable storage

July 13, 2026 · PV Magazine USA · Score: 32

Canadian Solar has introduced two new versions of its EP Cube home battery system, which pairs solar panels with battery storage and an inverter (the device that converts solar power into electricity your home can use). The Single-Phase 2.0 model is built for typical houses, putting out 10 kW of AC power and handling up to 15 kW of solar input. It uses four separate MPPTs (the components that track and optimize power from your solar panels), which the company says helps get more usable energy from roofs with multiple angles or partial shade. Storage starts with 5 kWh battery modules that stack up to 40 kWh on one base, and two units can be linked for up to 80 kWh total.

The second version, the Three-Phase Pro, targets larger homes and commercial buildings. It puts out 20 kW of AC power, and up to five units can be connected together for a combined 100 kW of output and 200 kWh of storage. This model also builds the battery backup connection directly into the inverter, so a separate control box isn't needed.

Both systems are rated for outdoor installation and come with a 10-year warranty on the inverter. The batteries, which use lithium iron phosphate (LFP) chemistry, carry a warranty of up to 15 years or 6,000 charge cycles. For homeowners considering solar-plus-battery setups, this points to more flexible sizing options, letting a system start smaller and expand later as needs change.
