BYD opens Denza Z9S pre-orders, claiming the ‘world’s longest’ EV range at 1,100 km
This is a car story, not a home energy upgrade story, so it has little bearing on your house. Briefly: BYD's luxury brand Denza has opened pre-orders in China for a new electric sedan, the Z9S, which the company says has the longest range of any mass-produced EV at 1,100 km (about 683 miles) on a full charge. Prices start under $50,000 and go up to about $57,700 for the fastest version.
The car comes in three range versions (484, 571, and 683 miles) and can charge very quickly, going from 10% to 70% battery in as little as 5 minutes, or to nearly full in 9 minutes. It's offered with either a single rear motor or a more powerful three-motor setup, and includes a large touchscreen interior and driver-assist technology.
None of this affects home electric-vehicle charging programs, rebates, or upgrades on its own, and the car isn't sold in the US. If you're weighing a home EV charger or panel upgrade, what matters for your own planning is the charging speed and battery size of whatever vehicle you actually buy, along with what your utility or state offers for EV charging equipment, not this specific overseas launch.
