AERCO Debuts High-Efficiency Benchmark NX Boiler

September 21, 2026 · ACHR News · Score: 32

Boiler maker AERCO has launched a new commercial model called the Benchmark NX, aimed at smaller buildings like multifamily properties, schools, stores, offices, and small healthcare facilities. It's a compact, high-efficiency boiler meant to fit in tight mechanical rooms while still delivering strong heating performance.

The new boiler comes in capacities between 399,000 and 500,000 BTUs per hour and reaches thermal efficiency up to 97.4%. It also has a 10:1 turndown ratio, meaning it can scale its output down to a small fraction of its maximum, which helps it run efficiently even when heating demand is low rather than just cycling on and off. A built-in control system, called the Edge Controller, can link up to 16 boilers together and sends maintenance alerts to help catch problems early.

This is a product announcement for building owners and property managers who oversee commercial-scale heating systems, not a residential furnace or boiler. If you own a single-family home, this specific model would not apply to your own equipment. But if you own or manage a multifamily building, small commercial property, or similar space that relies on a central boiler, it's worth knowing that more efficient, space-saving options like this are becoming available as older commercial boilers reach the end of their service life. The Benchmark NX is sold through AERCO's network of sales representatives.
