A New Lineup of Bosch Products for Multifamily Buildings

August 14, 2026 · ACHR News · Score: 44

Bosch Home Comfort Group has released a new lineup of heating and cooling equipment aimed at apartment buildings, condos, and townhouses rather than single-family homes. The lineup, sold under the Evcon and Guardian brands, includes heat pumps, air conditioners, furnaces, air handlers, coils, and thermostats built to handle the layout challenges common in multifamily buildings, such as long refrigerant piping runs, tall vertical lifts between floors, and tight equipment closets.

If you live in a condo or apartment, this mostly matters as a sign that manufacturers are building equipment specifically for buildings like yours, rather than scaling down single-family gear. Air conditioners in the lineup range from 1.5 to 5 tons, with efficiency ratings (SEER2) up to 13.4 or 14.3. Heat pumps range from 1 to 5 tons; some sizes are available now, with others (1-, 3-, 3.5-, 4-, and 5-ton models) coming later this year. The furnaces come in both condensing and non-condensing versions, meant to cover different climate needs across regions. Design features include line sets up to 250 feet, lift capacity up to 150 feet, compact 24-by-24-inch cabinets to fit small mechanical rooms, and crankcase heaters meant to improve heat pump reliability over time.

This news doesn't announce a rebate or program change. It's a product release for developers and contractors who build or renovate multifamily properties, so if your building's owner or management company is planning HVAC upgrades, this is the kind of equipment they may now have available to consider.
